The Arrival of the Frost Queen

From my Forest Diary:

December 6, 2020

The Frost Queen passed through my window this night and left her breath. Look at it! Pure art.

Later I went out into the forest, and saw this:

What on Earth is it?

During the Yule time, this sight has met me several time in the forest. Spread around on branches. At first, I thought of a phenomenon of Spring and Autumn. It looks like a kind of hair gathering on the branches. But it is winter.

Now, when I tried to touch it, I found out that it is a frost phenomenon created by the wind. As you can see, it looks like a fur of snow feathers. It is almost too beautiful just to be a natural phenomenon.

I thought about the Frost Queen wandering through the woods, spreading her art.

It is namely her who makes all the ice and snow you see in wintertime. Oh, you didn´t know that? Not far from the North Pole, you will find her home – an amazing palace of ice. She is the queen of the Frost Sprites, who carry out her orders and often make mischief. She is not always friendly and can be terrifying when she is angered. But most of all she loves the show and ice. When everyone is asleep, she flies across the land and spread her blanket of white.

If you love the world of winter and Christmas as much as she does, you should go and visit her, for she can show you all kinds of wonderful things.

But be careful, and remember Hans Christian Andersen´s fairy tale: The Snow Queen.
